Fountain in Temple Square

I believe this building is part of the Mormon Historic Museum with a fountain in front.

Sunset in Burns, OR

We stayed at Dave Zook's just outside Burns, OR and enjoyed this sunset.

Nevada I-80 West

LOTS of highway and WIND!!

Welcome to Nevada

We're on our way!!! Almost to Oregon!!!  Just this VERY WINDY state to get through.

More flowers

Temple Square Flowers

There were many garden beds and hanging flowers bursting with color.

Flowers in the Tabernacle Gardens

After listening to the Tabernacle Choir, we walk around Temple Square enjoying them flowers, until our shuttle would take us back to the RV park

Button Point information

I took this picture with not the best lighting. But has interesting info

Stopped for the night at Button Point

We stayed last night at Button Point,  a very nice rest area that is part of the California Trail.

Our "campsite" at Button Point

Button Point rest area had paved area for RV's and a dump station as you leave. Not even terrible road noise from the interstate. (Or maybe I'm just getting used to it?) :)

Now it begins. .

I THOUGHT THIS was beautiful. ..until we came around the bend...

Occasionally we get some mountains to see

Still LOTS OF WIND!

Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Since we were in Salt Lake City for Saturday..... Sunday we thought we'd experience the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.    Here iis a snippet of what we heard.

Air Force Academy

While visiting in Denver, we traveled to the Air Force Academy

Through the tunnel near Glenwood Springs

So beautiful

Can't believe there is so much beauty packed into a 23 mile drive!

Traffic Jam in Utah!!

We were merrily traveling down I-70 and suddenly we are ay a stand still!!! Construction City!

Welcome to Utah!

We entered Utah. If you look at the sign behind the state sign, you'll see the elevation sign....4760 feet

Lunch in Glenwood Canyon

Yesterday, Thurs.  April 24, we stopped for lunch along the Colorado River, near Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  Very nice rest area that was part of the 12.5 mile trail system along the Colorado River.

Utah terrain

Quite different from Colorado.....just a few miles ago!

Leaving Colorado

After 3 plus hours spent seeing so much beauty around us....we crossed the Colorado border into Utah

Camp site at Colorado National Park

We drove through the campground and the sites seem decent with grill and picnic table.  Good price of $.20

Monument Point

This is one of the more photographed places in th park.

One of MANY tunnels in the park

STILL looks"Skinny" to me!  I'm glad we left Harvey behind this first time so we could pull over and explore much easier at a moments notice.  NEXT TIME we'll come and campout!

Photography trick

I was in the midst of taking a picture and somehow took this picture and thought it was unique. ..so I'm including this picture.  Just don't ask the "Non-tech savvy" person that I am HOW I did it! :)

Outside the Air Force Chapel

This the exterior view of the Chapel

Interior of Air Force Academy Chapel

Absolutely Awe-Inspiring!

On Hwy 6 North to Provo

Much different terrain again and....LOTS of WIND!!! Headed back into the mountains

Entering Colorado National Monument

Didn't know what yo expect. ..just knew it rated 4.7 stars out of 5.

Filbert in front of the Air Force Academy Chapel

Back in the Mountains

Tonight we will probably stay in a Walmart parking lot in Orem, Utah, since we are traveling faster than planned. We have reservations for tomorrow night in Salt Lake City.  So guess we'll see the State Capitol Building tomorrow and then Morman Tabernacle Choir Sunday before we leave!

Balancing Rock

Tried to get a picture of balancing rock....but shadow & light weren't helping

Beautiful landscape

More of this magnificent National Park!  We highly recommend this park..they do have a campground and found out that the center of the tunnels are actually 16 feet 1 inch! So our 12 ft 4 inch RV COULD have made it!  Maybe next time we'll camp here! :)

"Hello to Harvey" way down below!

At one of the first view points, we looked down and saw our motorhome....Harvey. Right where we left him! :)

Grand Canyon look alike

Can't believe how much this are looks like parts of the Grand Canyon!

Look out below!!

Hellllllooooo Harvey the RV !!

Phil at chilly & breezy point

This view point was called Cold Shivers Point....for good reason!

Oooops!

We are headed to Colorado National Monument with Harvey the RV (10 ft 8 in) and car in tow!  Guess we have to leave Harvey behind!!!

Majestic backdrop. ..can't stop taking pictures!

Cadillac Ranch novelty shop

Filbert in a cadillac at Cadillac Ranch

Cadillac Ranch Amarillo Texas

Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo Texas

When you get closer you see all the spray painted graffiti and artwork.

What is that?

Let's get closer to check it out.

What to do in Amarillo while waiting for your RV to be repaired? Explores the local attractions.

What's in that horizon?

Clayton New Mexico RV

Good part: It is a pull-thru site with 50 amp....Otherwise it's very windy !!!

What????SNOW in New Mexico!!?

As soon as we crossed over the Texas border into New Mexico we see SNOW along the roadside!!

Welcome To New Mexico

Once we had Harvey The RV out of the "RV out patient" shop with a new coolant surge tank...we scooted out of town!  Headed to New Mexico on our way to Colorado

Texas Buttes

We are traveling through the Texas panhandle where this part of the country is pretty rugged

Welcome To Texas

NOW we're entering Texas! ;)

I messed up earlier by posting a picture of a water tower with name of Clinton on it...and claimed we were entering Texas then.

Clinton, OK !

Thinking of Phil's son Clinton & family

Entering Texas !

Due to the fact that we have a leak in our coolant surge tank, and although Filbert picked a replacement tank in Oklahoma City, no shop was able to get js in until sometime next week.....so we are headed to Amarillo, TX and was told by a shop there that they could get us in today.  Let's hope! :) (Thinking of family...right Duane , Jan?)

Original Springs in Abita Springs, LA

This IS the actual location of THE Abita Springs.  And yes I did fill up some gallon jugs with the spring water! It was very warm.

Entrance to Abita (pronounced Ah-Be-Tah) Springs RV

This park had a lot of family friendly activities. The company is set up to sell memberships for various parks in the SE.  But not for us!

Abita Springs RV park, Abita Springs, LA

We stayed 3 nights here while we explored Baton Rouge and New Orleans
